BROOKLIN

Lee Clark Allen, 51, beloved wife and best friend of Neil Allen, died Oct. 29, 2001, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born Nov. 1, 1949, in Manchester, N.H., the daughter of Robert E. and Eleanor (McCullough) Clark.

She was a graduate of Ithaca College, where she received a degree in fine arts. Lee opened an art studio in 1986 where she made and displayed various mediums of her art: woven baskets in the soft colors of nature. She captured the brilliant images of the Maine seascapes in her watercolors. A more recent art form was original wooden cabinets and footstools. Lee enjoyed her flower gardening, especially her roses. Flowers were the inspiration for many of her paintings. She was a creative person in everything she did.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 17 years, Neil; her mother, Eleanor Clark of Port Charlotte, Fla.; a sister, Laurie White and her husband, Steven, of Brooklin; two nieces, Laura Lynn and Rosanna of Brooklin. She also leaves behind her beloved pets, Mojo and Zoe.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at Brooklin Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Lufkin officiating. A gathering at her home will follow the service. If friends wish, they may make donations in Lee’s memory for an arts program at the Brooklin Elementary School, in care of David Sullivan, Brooklin, ME. Arrangements are by Healey Funeral Home, South Street, Blue Hill.
