Julie Hammer grew up in the Brewer, Maine area. She earned her teaching degree from the University of Maine and taught physical education at Old Town High School for twelve years. She has coached a variety of sports including softball, basketball and varsity field hockey. Seven years ago, her family moved to Ellsworth and for the past six years, she has taught physical education at Ellsworth High School. Julie has been married for 16 years to Michael, who is the principal at Hancock Grammar School. They have two daughters, Callie age 10 and Katie age 8. Julie is active with USTA tennis playing in both the women’s leagues and mixed leagues. As a family, the Hammers enjoy spending their free time traveling to Mt. Kineo on Moosehead Lake, Christmas Cove located in South Bristol, Maine and Green Lake here in Ellsworth.
Real estate has interested Julie for quite some time, so she decided to become a licensed sales agent a few years ago. Julie enjoys this new career immensely. Her superior attention to detail and eager desire to learn has jump-started her into a seasoned professional in very little time.
