Pumpkin Island Light Just a short 5 minute walk to Pumpkin Island Beach and the anchorage. There is a glimse of the Reach from the house.
Originally built by the Babson family in the late 1800's this sea captains home, though needing some TLC and updating it is a grand old home. Period details abound. The shingle work on the exterior is just waiting to be restored and painted in traditional Deer Isle colors. Formal fireplaced parlor, large inviting sitting room, formal dining room, huge eat in kitchen with a most unusual ceiling and a sun room on the first floor. In the ell, the original summer kitchen with some very fine old built in cabinet work which leads to the one car garage. Four bedrooms, an attic/spare room and a full bath on the second floor. The house sits on two acres of land, on both sides of Eggemoggin road, with a lilly pond and large back yard. There is a glimse of the Reach from the house. The Pumpkin Island Lighthouse beach is a short 5 minute stroll down the road.
